Until recently, Schioppettino was stricly a local wine Friulans drank young. Now it is a wine that ages very well and is gaining rapidly in reputation. The wine is aged for a minimum period of 12 months in chestnut casks that the Rubini family uses exclusively for this ancient and noble varietal. An intense ruby colour with purple glints and a distinctive bouquet that is remeniscient of violets and characteristic green peppers.
